| Looks like a close knit community from what i've seen, most camping over Saturday night having a barbie and a lemonade just how it should be... Whats the best bike for the job then guys? Looked as if the Maico was favourite with CCM coming in a close second.... but where was all the jap stuff, surely its more reliable? | |

| depends what you want and how much you have to spend. Decent rider will win on anything but it seems the Maicos and YZ465's are the winningest bike. A reed valve maico with decent suspension will set you back £4k - a YZ 2-3k for a decent one | |

| Most of the old bikes were softer on the suspension , there weren't the big jumps of today , the tracks didn't get as rough as there was less suspension travel and less power , the bikes cornered a lot better with softer sussies so that's how they were . | |

Thats dumb question coach, and I am the student !? The Maico chassis handles better and of course the Honda starts and keeps going. Strange thing is I started mx on monos so never rode twinshock but the Monda is a dream bike to ride. The only thing that shows up is the front drum brake when riding her. Current national champ in the hands of Roy Wells.

Current national champ in the hands of Roy Wells. Im quite surprised to be honest.. I did ride the twin shock 490 but I cant really remember much about it, dont think I stayed with it long as I got a bike and some support from Small World Kawasaki almost straight away.... the Maicos always seem really soft on the back to me, theres a pic on here somewhere and it shows how soft the rear end is. But like I say im not qualified to come back at ya on this one cos I cant remember how it rode now

See the monda not crouching with the front off the ground. But then it is factory. Unlike the bloody photo, whats going on ??
