Yesterday was my first race on the KTM , arrived at Yarley too find a very wet looking circuit.
The Solo Experts went out for their practice and only 2 made it round on the first lap , the organisers then took the decision to reverse the track and cut out one uphill and downhill loop.
The quads were sent out first and did an excellent job of packing down the track.
The track got better and better as the day went on.
Race 1 : Starts were proper old school with hand on back mudguard and a flag and I made a right hash of it .
Started last and passed a few riders but felt a little slow and rusty , found the bike handled a dream and was easy to corner on but missed the 450 grunt at times.
Race 2 : I thought I messed up the first start , this one was a lot worse , I stalled it , started way back but this fired me up and I was riding a lot better and caught and passed quite a few riders.
Race 3 : Got away with the rest of the pack this time , felt a lot more comfortable on the KaTooM made a few passes and finished 10th which I was pleased with
All in all a good days racing , track was good and meeting was very laid back and enjoyable , roll on the next one on January 30th
